On the 19th of this month I will be speaking as a panelist on the topic of story telling as a means to raising your profile. The event is being run in conjunction with EPWN (European Professional Women’s Network) and Ernst and Young. Tickets are still available and you can get them here. I have a great mix of fellow panelists and I am looking forward to the discussion and hearing their stories.
I am also hugely enjoying the London Storytelling festival and looking forward to tomorrow when I will be attending a storytelling workshop with Deborah Frances-White. As a writer myself I focus on the individual stories of the women I work with as they are so much more compelling than theory. We all identify more with a story that is relevant to our own experiences, and I often use examples of women I have worked with in my speaking and coaching sessions. This workshop will help me do an even better job of using stories in my presentations.
If you are interested in the Storytelling Festival you can find out more and book tickets here. Although many of the events are sold out there still some tickets available.
Next time you are speaking or presenting try weaving in a story – it’s a great way to keep the audience focused and attentive.
