I’m all for anything that makes the life of professional working women easier. We all know that first impressions count, but spending too much time on getting dressed in the morning is a luxury we don’t have. My time here in Boston on the Saltire Fellowship is in short supply and packing for four months away was a huge challenge. I need to look appropriate for whatever the day might bring from classroom sessions to meetings with clients. Naturally I love the idea of easy pieces that work together so I am delighted to be working with Capsule Wardrobes.
We’ve moved on from the Colour Me Beautiful representative of the 1980’s when a power suit in soft violet was the prescribed ‘battle amour’ for the working day. The stylists behind Capsule Wardrobes have both held senior management roles in the corporate world as well as retail and fashion. So whilst they have been trained in corporate image, they also understand what really works – hemlines, easy iron fabrics and shirts that stay tucked in. They create working wardrobes that are comfortable, on trend without making you a fashion victim and appropriate for a busy lifestyle, but that also make you look and feel good in your own skin.
I’ve teamed up with Capsule Wardrobes to bring you an evening packed full of information and tips on January 30th 2013, at The University Women’s Club.
We will be discussing:
- the best places to buy business wear and work to evening accessories online and on the high street
- how to pack for a week’s business trip in minutes using just carry-on luggage
- how to express your femininity but still be professional
- which fabrics will take you from day to night without feeling you need to get the iron out
- which pieces of underwear will make you feel 10lbs lighter with gravity working in your favour
This event goes beyond a fashion show on a perfect figure. You will be able to touch, feel and even try on and buy on the night.
Designers include The Fold London, Stella and Dot and Knomo to name a few.
Join us on the evening for a glass of bubbly – all attendees will also be entitled to a 10% discount on The Londoner service from Capsule Wardrobes and will receive a free copy of Female Breadwinners: How They Make Relationships Work and Why They are the Future of the Modern Workforce
